The Pony Farm has moved in! As you may know, we live in rural Northern Germany on a former farm. Andrea grew up there and her parents still own the property. We moved into the small flat next to Andrea's parents when Glenny was three months old. Three years later, we are still there and decided to settle in for good (instead of moving to the USA as we had originally intended). Well, Andrea's father was looking for a renter for his unused field and Andrea found this young guy on Facebook who was exactly looking for that. Only minutes after posting his request, they had set the time for meeting each other. Only three days later, on January 21st, 2017, the rental contract was signed.
Right after that, the work had to start. The "pony man", as Glenn likes to call Mirco, also rented part of the barn which need quite a bit of work after decades of being left unused. Although the pigs and sheep had moved out a long time ago, the barn is far from being empty.
So, our little family decided to help Mirco with cleaning out the barn: trash, wood, old manure. Fences had to be fixed and set up, and hedges and trees had to be cut. Mirco's ponies were supposed to move in in a few weeks. His rental contract with another owner in a nearby town would end soon. Mirco gives horse lessons to children, mostly kids with special needs and owns three ponies: Dolly, Ronja and Prince.
