Summer work

The Pony Farm makes a summer break, but the work is not. The geese are growing much faster than expected and we have to build their goose shed. Wyman cannot be "used" at the moment as he broke his finger while hammering in one of the fence poles with a sledge hammer - two days before we left for our trip to Lithuania and Poland.
In the meantime, the old goose compartment inside the barn collapsed. An old stove fell into the wall. Andrea's father is currently repairing it. This will be the winter home of the geese and chickens.

Since the Little cage the geese have been in ever since they arrived is getting way to small, Andrea and Wyman are trying to work as quickly as possible to complete the goose shed outside on the field. Whenever it is raining (which it is a lot) or in case the sun decides to shine, the geese will need this little shed.

At the moment, our three geese Else, Heidi and Jack are living in the chicken enclosure during the day as our chickens Bertha, Henrietta, Emma and Grace are freerange chickens anyway.

And as if there isn't already work enough, we have Problems with a chicken parasite, the red fowl mite. Getting rid of the mites was more difficult than expected

The geese already spent one night inside their new goose shed although it isn't entirely finished yet. Inside, they have an automatic feeding machine, built by Andrea's father. Well, what Kind of goose wouldn't like an automatic feeding machine? :)

The only animals that are no real work at all right now are the ponies! They are enjoying their 3-week-break and are satisfied with eating grass on the fields.

Since Mirco (the "pony man") is not here at the moment, the ponies are trying to take advantage of that fact and tend to ignore fences to get to even greener grass (they think).
