On February 6th, we lost Henrietta, probably to a fox. She was our only white chicken. Today, the new white chicken HETTIE moved in. She lived at the same place we got Henrietta from.

Bertha, Emma and Grace were not too happy to see her and picked on her a lot (literally!) - which is normal. Well, they had a lot to deal with: the loss of Henrietta, moving into a new, safer winter home, Hettie's arrival and the arrival of their first rooster experience the same day Hettie arrived.
JOHNNY was supposed to move in on February 6th, but Henrietta's death made us switch plans. He moved in four days later, the same day Hettie moved in. Johnny was rescued by his previous owner along with two other roosters that were supposed to be killed within a few days. He will hopefully have a long and happy life with us. He didn't waste any time and "got to know" Emma very quickly.
